About Horse Archery

Horse archery (mounted archery/horseback archery) has a long history in both hunting and warfare. Horse archery has many traditions throughout Europe, Asia and America, and was an honoured Samurai tradition in Japan (called Yabusame). The sport has a more recent tradition in Australia, with participation increasing both nationally and internationally.

The Flying Fletches holds regular rally days (ground archery and mounted archery) once a month for members.

The club also hosts horse archery clinics with local and international instructors.
